Information:
Located eight miles east of downtown Los Angeles, Alhambra is often referred to as the "Gateway to the San Gabriel Valley." Land area: 7.6 square miles. Fire Department There are four stations located strategically throughout the City with a minimum of 20 available personnel at all times to serve the community: * Station #71 Headquarters 301 N. First St., Alhambra (626) 570-5101 (Houses Engine 71, Medic 71, Truck 71, and the shift commander, Battalion 7) * Station #72 Southeast District 1215 S. Sixth St., Alhambra (626) 570-5102 (Houses Engine 72, staffed with three personnel) * Station #73 Northwest District 2200 W. Main St., Alhambra (626) 570-5103 (Houses Engine 73) * Station #74 Southwest District 2505 W. Norwood Pl., Alhambra (626) 570-5104 (Houses Engine 74, staffed with three personnel and Medic 74 with two personnel) Police Department The Alhambra Police Department is located on the northwest corner of First Street and Commonwealth next to City Hall. The address is 211 S. First St., Alhambra, 91801. The Dispatch/Communications section dispatches and answers radio calls for the police and fire department. It answers 911 emergency calls and police-related business calls. A customary shift consists of a Police Lieutenant, Police Sergeant and six to eight Police Officers. At least one officer is assigned to each of four "beats" with additional officers supplementing the "Beat Officer" to provide excellent service. |
