Find out directly from flight crews what it’s like to do police work while swooping over Pasadena by helicopter. The Pasadena Police Department’s Air Operations Team will touch down for a free Open House event June 2 to give residents a close-up look at the helicopters and to learn more about how Air Operations protects and serves the public.
The public is invited to this special Open House from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, June 2, at Benedict Heliport, 2175 Yucca Lane in Altadena. The Benedict Heliport is just off the 210 freeway, at the Arroyo/Windsor exit. Other important police vehicles will be on display, including motorcycles, an armored rescue vehicle, Crime Scene Investigations and a mobile command post. Visitors can also meet some of Pasadena’s most popular officers, the K9s, and their human partners.
Anyone interested in a law enforcement career also will be able to speak with representatives from the Pasadena Police Employment Services Unit. And each hour, starting at 11:30 a.m., Pasadena Police will present a different demonstration of techniques involving SWAT, K9s or motorcycles.
