Here’s a behind the scenes video of radio communications at the Rim Fire near Yosemite National Park.  The video was made by a person who is a radio communications technician and shows setting up portable repeaters and other communications gear and what life is like living in a “base camp” at a large fire like this one.  It takes a lot of people and a lot of infrastructure to fight these large wildfires.

This video is a little “rough and raw” and, as such, may not be suitable for all but it has some good information.

You may also wish to check out other videos by “Guerrillacomm” on YouTube for related radio stuff and “prepping.”
